Reception

Our three form Reception builds on the strengths that children have already developed in their Nursery setting and at home. We offer high quality induction for all pupils and families through carefully planned home visits and consultations.

Children start in small groups and quickly build up attendance to full time during their first weeks at school. This second year of the Foundation Stage allows children to develop their learning further through an investigative and creative curriculum. Children enjoy a balance of learning experiences, in whole class, half class, small group or individual sessions. Learning is indoors or outdoors, self directed or adult directed and above all always fun! Children are involved in daily phonics sessions, number work and take part in regular guided reading with their teacher.

Learning starts also to take place outside the school with visits ranging from Chiswick Library to The National Gallery.
